In partnership with Heath Nash and Wunders, the waste workshop offered a space for artists and artisans to utilise offcut materials from the Wunders factory that would have otherwise ended up in landfill. The workshop also set out to allow artists to play and make in a shared space with the idea of pushing themselves creatively and technically through the exchange of knowledge and skills from different areas of interest and expertise within a collective of artists, artisans, furniture-makers and other practitioners. The workshop also resulted in an exhibition displaying the works created during the 10 days. The workshop itself included daily presentations by participants as well as a number of shared meals over the course of the 10 days. During the presentations, participants had the opportunity to present past work, share in ideas, and use each other as creative soundboards both for the work they were creating at breakroom, but also for their practices going forward. Participants of the workshop included Igshaan Adams, Loyiso Botha, Boytchie, Luca Evans, Jovan Damon, John Davids, Mpilo Headman, Thato Makatu, Andisiwe Mgwinteni, Lindokuhle Mzila, Heath Nash, Raylin Roux, Abongile Sidzumo, Pia Truscott and Nicola West-Morland.
